Grady Griffith grew up in Southern California, and he loves sports. In fact, he started playing soccer at just 4-years-old!

In his youth, he played baseball, basketball, and golf. At age 16, he worked at a nearby country club, which further inflamed his passion for golf in particular. After graduating from The San Diego Golf Academy, he worked in the Golf industry for over 20 years!

After this, he served as a salesman and General Manager in the automotive industry. Over the years, he also helped out the family business by selling and installing custom window coverings.

In 2013, his parents moved to Georgetown, TX and not long after, Grady followed. Ready for a change, and wanting to continue with the family business, he founded Home Town Window Coverings with Michelle & David.

David Griffith started working as a stock boy in the home décor industry at the age of 19. Soon after, he was called to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He was deployed to Vietnam, where he earned 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.

Once he returned home, he continued working in the home décor industry as a salesman. In 1971, he met his future wife, Michelle, and within a year, they decided to move to Orange County, California to open their first bed and bath boutique.

During that time, David learned all about the custom window covering industry, selling drapes, blinds, shades, and even custom bedding. In 2013, David and Michelle retired to Georgetown, Texas, but their retirement didn’t last long.

David was anxious to get back into the business, and soon, Home Town Window Coverings was born. Since then, he’s become a well-known drapery specialist in Austin and its surrounding cities. When it comes to custom drapes and shades, there is nothing he can’t do!

David and Michelle Griffith have been pioneers in the window covering business since 1975. They have added their professional touch and design expertise to thousands of projects throughout the years, from design to point of sale to installation.

David started working as a stock boy in the home décor industry when he was just 19 years old. Soon after he was called to serve his country and spent several years in the Army and then was deployed to Vietnam. Once he returned home, he continued working in the industry as a salesman. In 1971 he met his future wife, Michelle, and within 2 years they decided to venture out and open their own home décor store and name it Grady’s Interiors after their son.

Grady’s Interiors continue to expand their products and services by developing their window covering business. They became specialists in custom draperies, Roman Shades, faux wood blinds, roller shades, woven woods and more. During this time Michelle honed her design skills and authored over 50 sewing books and patterns. She created her own line of fabrics and thread to complement her books and digital projects. Michelle’s eye for color and design and David’s knowledge and installation talents have been the corner stone of their business.

David and Michelle retired to Georgetown, Texas in 2013, but that didn’t last too long. They missed the interaction of helping people, and with all the building taking place in town, they decided it was the perfect time to free-lance for several companies as drapery specialists in the area. During that time, they worked on many fun projects such as the Recreation Center in Sun City, The Vineyard in Florence and many new housing tracks and custom homes in the area.

Their son, Grady, recently proposed that they move forward from free-lancing to going into business together. Soon Home Town Window Coverings was established. Grady is very conscientious and is well-versed in all things Hunter Douglas, motorization, solar shades and more. The Griffith’s announced in June that Grady would take over as lead management while David and Michelle handle other aspects of the business. It is a real family team and business. Home Town Window Coverings offers free design consultation as well as discounts to veterans and first responders. They are ready to cover your windows today and give you a real hands-on experience.
